The cover to the left is from Christopher Sebela’s series – WELCOME BACK which is read as “We Come Back”. The story is about two assassins who are reincarnated forever fighting, killing, and loving each other throughout their endless lives. It reminded me of my journey with ComicAddiction.net and that no matter how many times I think the site is dead, it always finds a way to come back. Some times it’s for a brief run, and other times for long stretches, but it always comes back and I welcome it every time.
So… Welcome to ComicAddiction.net, my little corner of the Internet.
I’ve called Comic Addiction home for since 1999, and it has had a LOT of different formats from a review site, to a full blown comic media site, to a podcast hub, and a personal blog of sorts. What you’re seeing on this site now is a mixture of all of that in the way I want to present it.
I should start out by saying this site is NOT a comic book news/media site that you come to for your news. What you will see are previews, press releases, and other bits of information about the comics, creators, and publishers I enjoy reading at that time. For example, I’m heavily reading BOOM! Studios and diving more into Image Comics, so you’re going to see a lot of coverage of those publishers. I’m probably going to dive back into Dynamite Entertainment soon, and finally get back into Vault Comics, so you’ll see more coverage of them as I get the chance. I do receive press releases and preview art from various publishers (still) from when Comic Addiction was a site with a larger group of people working on it, so if you’re a creators or publisher reading this and you want to add me to your press list – please email me at [email protected].
At this time I’m not writing reviews on a regular basis, but I have received some comics over the last month or two that were sent for me to read and review, so those will be added in the near future. My apologies to those that have sent me books and have not seen a review. I’m not ignoring you, just trying to decide how I should go about things with this site now, and as you can tell – I’m going to start reviewing… slowly.
On a podcast front, this site is the home to ALL of my podcasts, ie: Comic Addiction, Image Addiction, BOOM! Addiction, and others. I will be adding them to the site when I can. Currently, BOOM! Addiction is the only podcast that’s active. I co-host this podcast with my long time friend and podcast partner Ed Moore, Jr. If you’re not listening to it (or watching it on YouTube – LIVE every Thursday night at 9pm EST) I would love to invite you to do so, even if you don’t read BOOM! Studio titles, you might find something that interests you.
Beyond the new stuff, I will be talking about my comic book collection. I don’t want to dive too much into that here because there are a lot of ‘series’ of posts I’m planning on doing for the collection in the next month, but I need to get some things in order first. I will probably post something soon that gets the ball rolling (much like this post) and then build off it it.
And that’s about it. Again “welcome back” to ComicAddiction.net. The goal here is to have fun, talk about comics, and take a break from the insanity that is our lives even if just for a moment. I appreciate all of you.
